Job Description

We are seeking a permanent In-Patient Nurse Manager for a critical access hospital in Iowa to oversee daily operations of the med/surg and swing bed departments.

The role involves supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and coordinating patient assessments to develop individualized care plans. The manager will oversee higher acuity patients at times, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and implement Athenahealth software for documentation.

Ideal candidates will have leadership experience in healthcare, a strong clinical background in critical care and pediatrics, and familiarity with procedures like spinal taps and catheter care. Knowledge of DRG coding and workers’ compensation law is beneficial.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, training, monitoring patient progress, and facilitating communication among patients, families, and providers. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are essential.

This full-time position offers $90,000-$115,000 annually and provides an opportunity to impact patient care significantly while leading a dedicated team.
