Job Description

Part-Time Bilingual Pediatrician

Location: White Plains, NY (Hybrid Schedule)
Hours: 28 hours/week
Language Requirement: English/Spanish

Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) is seeking a dedicated bilingual pediatrician to join our Pediatric Unit, which serves as the medical home for approximately 300 children in family foster care across Westchester County.

Pediatrician Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive primary care to children in foster care
Follow NYS Working Together guidelines and AAP standards
Conduct pediatric evaluations and review medical records
Refer to specialists and follow up on recommendations
Perform procedures and interpret lab results
Respond to phone inquiries during office hours and on-call times (nights/weekends/holidays)
Complete forms and reports for patients and DSS staff

Additional Responsibilities

Educate patients, families, DSS staff, and Pediatric Unit nurses
Develop printed materials and deliver presentations
Conduct outreach to community agencies and DSS offices
Participate in discharge planning and board rate reviews
Track developmental screenings and report to Westchester County DOH EI
Contribute to discussions at Foster Care Discharge Review meetings

Pediatrician Qualifications

MD or DO degree
Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP)
Valid NYS medical license, DEA registration, and CPR certification
AAP membership
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience with child welfare or vulnerable populations preferred
Strong computer and EMR skills
Excellent communication and public speaking abilities
