*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
* Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
* Oversee patient care plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet individual patient needs.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
* Aid in the hiring, onboarding, and training of both full-time and per diem nursing staff.
* Manage staffing schedules and shift assignments to ensure adequate coverage.
* Stay informed of current trends in nursing practice, including acute and hospice care.
* Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
* Mentor and develop nursing staff to foster professional growth.
*Skills and Qualifications*
* Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to patient care.
* Proven experience in nursing management within a healthcare setting.
* Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
* Proficiency in developing and implementing patient care plans.
* Familiarity with surgical and post-operative care, as well as standards for patient safety.
* Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining privacy standards.
* Ability to manage shifts efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient outcomes.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with staff and patients.
