Job Description

The Substance Abuse Therapist provides individual, group, and family therapy services to clients with substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health conditions. This role is responsible for assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, facilitating therapeutic interventions, and ensuring compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. The therapist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote recovery, support relapse prevention, and help clients achieve long-term sobriety.

*Key Responsibilities*

Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, intake evaluations, and ongoing clinical assessments for assigned clients.

Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and treatment teams.

Facilitate group therapy sessions (average 2–3 per day) on topics including relapse prevention, coping skills, trauma, and recovery education.

Provide individual therapy and family counseling as clinically appropriate.

Document all services accurately and timely in accordance with clinical, state, and federal requirements.

Coordinate care with case managers, physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure continuity of care.

Attend and participate in clinical meetings, treatment team reviews, and case consultations.

Support discharge planning and transition of clients to aftercare programs or community resources.

Maintain licensure and continuing education requirements as mandated by state and professional boards.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulations.

*Qualifications*

* Required Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
* Active and unrestricted licensure in the state of Colorado as one of the following:
* MSW, LSW, LMHC, LMHCA, LCAC, LCACA
* Experience in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting preferred
* Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical skills
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
