Job Description
The Speech Language Pathologist provides comprehensive speech, language, swallowing, and hearing assessments and treatments for children across all age groups within the Special Education services Program.
- Demonstrates expertise in language development, assessment, and intervention strategies.
- Develops classroom and home adaptations, models developmentally appropriate practices, and prepares therapy sessions aligned with IEP goals.
- Provides speech therapy services, ensures inclusive programming, and promotes children’s independence.
- Travels to community sites for services, monitors progress, and documents child behavior and therapy outcomes.
- Communicates positively with children, supports transitions, and collaborates with staff and families for at-home activities.
- Administers evaluations, provides screenings, and offers supervision to CFY candidates.
- Participates in meetings, trainings, and committees, and may assist with additional tasks as needed.
