Job Description
The Recreational Therapist is responsible for delivering therapeutic recreation programs that promote the emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being of patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
**Qualifications:** Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, or related field; 2+ years of experience, preferably in behavioral health; Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS); additional certifications in modalities like music, art, or adventure therapy are a plus; strong knowledge of behavioral health treatment models, including trauma-informed care.
**Duties and Responsibilities:** Implement and lead structured recreational activities such as art, music, movement, mindfulness, and social skills; conduct individual and group sessions using evidence-based techniques; collaborate with healthcare team members to align therapy with treatment plans; monitor and adjust interventions based on patient progress.
