Job Description

The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive community care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the Southern Tier region.

  • They will conduct street outreach, coordinate needs before and after housing, and support daily living skills.
  • Providing supportive counseling, advocating against discrimination, and promoting harm reduction are core responsibilities.
  • The role involves fieldwork, on-call duties, and flexible hours.
  • Post-housing support includes ongoing follow-up to ensure stability and independence.
  • Requires a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with experience or plans to obtain licensure.
  • Travel across Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties is expected.
  • Offerings include full-time hours, competitive pay ($32-$34/hr), and benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Relocation to Norwich, NY, is required before starting.
