Job Description
The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive community care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the Southern Tier region.
They will conduct street outreach, coordinate needs before and after housing, and support daily living skills.
Providing supportive counseling, advocating against discrimination, and promoting harm reduction are core responsibilities.
The role involves fieldwork, on-call duties, and flexible hours.
Post-housing support includes ongoing follow-up to ensure stability and independence.
Requires a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with experience or plans to obtain licensure.
Travel across Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties is expected.
Offerings include full-time hours, competitive pay ($32-$34/hr), and benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. Relocation to Norwich, NY, is required before starting.
