Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner

Job Description

This PRN Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner role in the Acute Care Department involves providing direct patient care and supervising inpatient services during 10-hour shifts on a seven-days-on, seven-days-off schedule.

Responsibilities include conducting rounds, detailed history and physicals, diagnosing, treating, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Ensures timely workup, proper disposition, and comprehensive discharge planning while serving as a resource and educator for nursing staff.

Acts as a liaison among ED physicians, specialists, and primary care providers to coordinate patient care.

Requirements include a Master’s in Nursing, valid RN and advanced practice licenses, and certifications in CPR, ACLS, and PALS. At least one year of nurse practitioner experience is required.

Skills needed are strong communication, independence, policy development, and proficiency with electronic records and medical terminology.

Compensation ranges from $45.00 to $52.50 per hour, with benefits like an employee assistance program and retirement plan.

Candidate must be able to relocate to Pinckneyville, IL, before starting work.
