Job Description
This full-time position involves practicing medicine under physician supervision, including conducting exams and prescribing medications.
Within the physician–APP relationship, the provider exercises autonomy in medical decision-making and offers a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services across primary care areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, and surgery.
The role includes responsibilities in education, research, and administration.
The Hospitalist APP delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with hospitalist physicians and the interdisciplinary team, managing virtual care for acutely ill hospitalized patients—covering admissions, inpatient management, coordination, and discharge planning.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** Familiarity with medical terminology, diagnosis, treatment planning, patient assessment, and confidential documentation. Skilled in data analysis, evaluating patient problems, developing care plans, and effective communication. Able to make responsible decisions independently, collaborate on complex cases, and use clinical and computer tools proficiently.
**Qualifications:** Bachelor’s degree, completion of an accredited PA or APRN program, and licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
**Experience:** 1-2 years in inpatient or hospital medicine preferred; new graduates with strong inpatient rotations are considered.
