Job Description
The Psychiatrist in Street-based Services collaborates with multidisciplinary outreach teams to evaluate, diagnose, and treat high-need, homeless individuals in LA County’s Skid Row area.
- Provide in-field assessments, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and monitor client progress.
- Work closely with medical teams, case managers, and social services to ensure comprehensive care.
- Engage clients in a challenging environment, often in tents and encampments, utilizing a harm reduction approach.
- Maintain documentation, participate in ongoing education, and stay current with clinical practices.
- Qualifications include board certification in Psychiatry, valid licensure, experience with severe mental illnesses and substance use, and comfort working in diverse, dynamic settings.
- Preferred bilingual in Spanish and experience with medication-assisted treatment are advantageous.
