The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
The multi-disciplinary team includes a leader, licensed clinicians, care managers, and peer specialists, utilizing evidence-based Critical Time Intervention to support participants before and after housing placement.
Responsibilities involve street outreach, coordinating needs, enhancing daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities. Emphasis on member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, and person-centered care is essential.
The team maintains contact with participants post-housing to promote stability and independence. This role involves fieldwork, on-call hours, and flexible scheduling.
Qualifications include a master’s or higher license in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with MSW candidates encouraged if planning for licensure and experience with homeless populations. Travel within three counties is required.
