Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Job Description

The Licensed Social Worker provides direct client contact to certify treatment eligibility and deliver psychotherapy for substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Conducts screenings, intake interviews, assessments, and diagnostic impressions.

Performs individual, group, and family counseling related to addiction.

Provides client orientations, psycho-education, and crisis intervention.

Coordinates referrals, case management, and maintains accurate documentation.

Participates in treatment planning and client education.

Works under regular supervision, excluding clinical supervision responsibilities.

Requirements: Master’s in Social Work, NYS license (LMSW preferred), minimum 2 years’ experience in substance abuse treatment, and completion of required training within 3 months of hire.
