*Position Summary*
The Pediatrician (MD) provides comprehensive, high-quality medical care to infants, children, and adolescents in an ambulatory clinic setting. This role focuses on preventive care, acute illness management, chronic condition management, and developmental health, consistent with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) standards, HRSA guidelines, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Pediatrician works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team to promote optimal child health outcomes and family-centered care.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients from birth through adolescence, including well-child exams, sick visits, and follow-up care.
* Perform physical examinations, developmental screenings, vision and hearing screenings, and growth assessments.
* Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
* Provide preventive care services, including immunizations, anticipatory guidance, and age-appropriate screenings.
* Manage chronic pediatric conditions such as asthma, ADHD, obesity, and diabetes.
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests (laboratory, imaging, etc.) and develop appropriate treatment plans.
* Prescribe medications including controlled substances, and therapies in accordance with clinical guidelines and applicable laws.
* Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and comply with all billing requirements.
* Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, schools, and ancillary providers; initiate and manage referrals as appropriate.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and clinical audits.
* Provide culturally competent and trauma-informed care to a diverse pediatric population and their families.
* Educate patients and families on health maintenance, nutrition, safety, and disease prevention.
* Collaborate with nursing staff, medical assistants, behavioral health providers, and case managers to support integrated care.
* Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), residents, and clinical staff, as assigned.
* Participate in on-call coverage, extended hours, and weekend schedules, as required.
* Support organizational compliance with HRSA, Joint Commission, NCQA, and other regulatory standards.
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable privacy laws.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications*
*Education & Training*
· Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
· Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
*Licensure & Certifications*
* Active and unrestricted medical license.
* Current DEA registration.
* BLS/PALS certification
*Experience*
* Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an outpatient or pediatric primary care setting preferred.
* Experience working in an FQHC or underserved community setting strongly preferred.
* Experience with ECW EMR system preferred.
*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*
* Bilingual: Spanish, preferred.
* Strong pediatric clinical judgment and diagnostic skills.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children and families.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
* Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations.
* Proficiency with EMR documentation and clinical workflows.
* Knowledge of pediatric preventive care guidelines and immunization schedules.
* Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations, including HRSA requirements.
* Ability to supervise and mentor clinical staff.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
*Work Environment & Physical Demands*
* Work is primarily performed in a clinical office setting.
* May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
* Must be able to perform physical examinations and clinical procedures.
* Occasional travel between clinic sites may be required.
