We are currently seeking a Board-Certified/ Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner – Orthopedics for an exciting Locum opportunity in Mason City, IA
Start Date: As soon as credentialed! Schedule: 8a-5p, Mon- Fri with call
Compensation: $140 an hour
Position Overview:
Inpatient responsibilities: Yes – rounding on post-op patients, inpatient/ED consults, OR
Telehealth: NO.
Job Responsibilities: Clinical, Surgical and Trauma/Orthopedic Call
Number of Physicians: 4 Physicians as of July 2025 with Locum call coverage
Number of Advanced Practice Providers:
Nursing Support: 1 nurse/provider, 3 cast techs/7 providers
Ancillary Staff per Provider: 3 Reception/7 providers, 2 Surgery Schedulers/7 providers
Number of Exam Rooms per Provider: 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms
Medical Imaging: YES.
Lab: YES.
Pharmacy: YES.
Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: Mainly consults, current avg hospital daily census 160 pts/day
Appointment Length: 10-30 mins depending on new consult, recheck, post-op, or procedure
Demographics: Hub Hospital, Serve 16 surrounding counties, Population 200,000+
EMR: GE Centricity for clinic. EPIC for hospital.
Teaching Opportunity: IM and FM residency. PA student rotation.
Facility will accept new grads.
Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days
Procedures offered in the practice:
Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement.
Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures.
Trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and other disorders.
