Nurse Manager (RN) – Child Behavioral Health Unit

Job Description

The Nurse Manager oversees the inpatient Child Unit, a 12-bed facility dedicated to acute mental health care for children aged 4-12, focusing on conditions such as depression, disruptive behavior, psychotic disorders, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use.

They coordinate and supervise staff and patient care activities, ensuring smooth unit operations within a multidisciplinary team that includes medical providers, therapists, and nurses.

Key responsibilities include managing treatment plans, supporting therapies (e.g., individual, group, occupational), and facilitating a safe, therapeutic environment with access to recreational and educational resources.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Nursing, RN licensure in Maine, leadership skills, and preferably 2+ years of psychiatric nursing experience. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and management abilities are essential.
