Doctor of Podiatric Medicine with Wound Care Expertise

Job Description

*Overview*
We are seeking an exceptional Doctor of Podiatric Medicine with Wound Care expertise to join our dynamic team. Our rapidly growing practice is committed to delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to patients of all ages with a strong emphasis on diabetic limb salvage and wound management.

*Responsibilities*

* Consults, examines and treats patients with a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including but not limited to fractures, sprains, infections, skin conditions and wounds
* Perform routine foot and ankle exams and create individualized treatment plans
* Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed
* Perform surgical procedures as necessary, such as foot and ankle reconstruction and wound care
* Educate patients about their conditions and provide preventative care recommendations
* Keeps complete and accurate medical records
* Assists, as appropriate, in the medical supervision of clinical staff.
* Is readily available to manage patient emergencies that may arise during wound care appointments.
* Maintains communication with referring medical providers, the immediate care team as well as the with collaborating teams to coordinate patient care
* Conducts appropriate patient discharge, follow-up, and referrals.
* Stay current with the latest advancements in podiatry and maintain licensure and certifications
* Actively stay current with the latest developments in wound care through ongoing educational activities.
* Maintain competencies associated with wound management (e.g. biopsy, debridement, application of cellular and/or tissue based products, application compression devices, etc).
* Engage in self-development through corporate training, coaching, and participation in professional associations.
* Participates equitably in the quality improvement process.

*Education, Experience* , *Training*

* Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic imaging such as X-rays and MRIs.
* Several years of clinical and inpatient experience.
* Must be an D.P.M. graduate holding a valid diploma from an accredited podiatry school.
* Must be Board Certified
* Active, unrestricted state medical license
* DEA license
* Wound care certification (e.g. CWSP) from an accredited program, or eligibility to obtain certification from an accredited program
* Membership in professional organizations such as the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA)
* Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
* Written and verbal communication skills (computer skills necessary)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $295,000.00 per year
