Job Description
The Psychiatrist in Street-based Services collaborates with multidisciplinary outreach teams to evaluate, diagnose, and treat individuals experiencing homelessness in LA County’s Skid Row area.
Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, monitoring progress, and coordinating with medical and social service providers in a high-need, street-based environment. The role requires assessing clients on-site, documenting encounters, and providing emergency consultations, all while working in a dynamic, outdoor setting.
Qualifications include a valid medical license, BC/BE in Psychiatry, and at least two years of experience, preferably with severe mental illness and substance use. Bilingual skills (Spanish) and comfort working in chaotic environments are preferred.
