Job Description
*Summary*
Legends Recovery Center of Defiance is seeking a dedicated and experienced Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Clinician/Primary Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team in a detox/residential setting. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of substance abuse issues, addiction treatment modalities, and a compassionate approach to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. As an SUD Clinician, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing (if within scope of practice), and providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
*Responsibilities included but not limited to:*
Assessment and Evaluation:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the severity and nature of individuals’ substance use disorders, as well as the appropriate level of care.
* Evaluate clients’ mental health, social, and medical histories to inform personalized treatment plans.
Treatment Planning:
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic modalities.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to care.
Counseling and Therapy:
* Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address the underlying issues contributing to substance abuse.
* Implement cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based interventions to support clients in achieving and maintaining recovery.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and interventions.
Education and Support:
* Educate clients and their families on the effects of substance use, the recovery process, and coping strategies.
* Offer support and guidance to clients in navigating the challenges of recovery, including relapse prevention strategies.
Crisis Intervention:
* Respond to crises promptly and effectively, providing crisis intervention and collaborating with emergency services when necessary
Professional Development:
* Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in the field of substance use disorders and mental health.
* Pursue ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
*Education/Requirements:*
* CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, LICDC, LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC
* Must have a least 2 years experience with therapy
* Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and State standards strongly preferred
* Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential
* Authorization to work in the US is required
