Night Shift Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Job Description

*Position Overview:*
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our critical care team for night coverage in our 10-bed ICU. This position offers the opportunity to work in a community hospital setting, providing comprehensive care to patients in a general medical ICU. The ideal candidate will be confident managing acutely ill patients independently, with physician backup available via pager. Schedule is 7 on 7 off (175 shifts per year) from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

*Responsibilities:*

* Provide overnight coverage for the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of critically ill patients.
* Perform and manage critical care procedures such as endotracheal intubation, central line placement, and arterial line insertion (with back up from ED and Anesthesia physicians)
* Collaborate closely with nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and attending physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.
* Respond to emergent situations and code blue calls as needed.
* Document all patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).

*Qualifications:*

* Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
* Minimum of *1 year of critical care experience* in an ICU setting required.
* Proficiency with critical care procedures, including intubation and central line placement.
* Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
* ACLS certification required
