*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic healthcare team. *Duties*
* Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess vital signs to evaluate the health status of pediatric patients across all age groups, from infants to adolescents.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, specialists, and families, ensuring comprehensive treatment strategies.
* Administer medications and injections with precision, including IV infusions and immunizations, adhering strictly to safety protocols and best practices.
* Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing clinical judgment and interpret laboratory results, imaging reports, and other diagnostic tools such as sonography.
* Manage acute pain episodes and provide appropriate interventions for children experiencing urgent or chronic conditions.
* Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, and sterile processing techniques within clinical or hospital settings.
* Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
* Engage in telehealth consultations to extend pediatric care services remotely, ensuring accessibility for diverse patient populations.
* Participate in clinical research projects related to pediatric health issues, contributing to evidence-based practice improvements.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine units—including PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), and general pediatrics—to coordinate patient care effectively.
* Provide education on nutrition, developmental milestones, family planning, and health coaching tailored for children and their families.
* Support discharge planning and case management efforts to ensure seamless transitions from inpatient to outpatient or home care environments.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), and Workers’ Compensation law relevant to pediatric practice.
*Experience*
* Proven clinical experience in pediatrics with a minimum of several years working directly with children across diverse healthcare settings such as outpatient clinics, hospitals—including Level I/II trauma centers—and assisted living facilities specializing in senior or memory care when applicable.
* Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation and patient record management.
* Experience administering injections, performing venipuncture (venipuncture), phlebotomy, catheter care, tube feeding management, and aseptic techniques within clinical environments.
* Background in managing acute care situations including airway management, ventilator support, dialysis procedures, gastrostomy tube management (Gastric lavage), and infectious disease care protocols.
* Familiarity with behavioral health assessments and psychopharmacology principles pertinent to pediatric mental health conditions.
* Knowledge of hospital medicine practices including ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency room procedures (ER experience), trauma center protocols (Level I/II Trauma Center experience), and post-acute care processes such as hospice & palliative medicine when relevant.
* Experience working with children who have developmental disabilities or require specialized memory or dementia care support is advantageous.
* Strong understanding of medical imaging techniques like sonography and laboratory experience for specimen collection/processing enhances diagnostic capabilities.
* Additional skills include familiarity with occupational health standards, infection control measures—including sterile processing—and the ability to perform physical examinations efficiently in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or outpatient clinics.
