Job Description
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing speech therapy services to ensure high-quality resident care in accordance with regulations.
Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders, following physician orders.
Conduct screenings for new and long-term residents based on referrals or significant changes.
Participate in facility meetings, care planning, and staff education to support resident needs and facility compliance.
Develop tailored programs to help residents achieve optimal functioning and assist the facility in maintaining certifications.
Follow infection control policies, uphold residents’ rights, and maintain professional conduct.
Manage caseload scheduling, coordinate staff in-services, and communicate productivity levels with administration.
Qualifications include a Master’s degree, state licensure, Asha certification, and preferably SNF experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills are required.
Pay ranges from $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, with 1-16 hours weekly, and benefits such as an employee assistance program, flexible schedule, and retirement plan.
