Job Description

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing speech therapy services to ensure high-quality resident care in accordance with regulations.


  • Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders, following physician orders.
  • Conduct screenings for new and long-term residents based on referrals or significant changes.
  • Participate in facility meetings, care planning, and staff education to support resident needs and facility compliance.
  • Develop tailored programs to help residents achieve optimal functioning and assist the facility in maintaining certifications.
  • Follow infection control policies, uphold residents’ rights, and maintain professional conduct.
  • Manage caseload scheduling, coordinate staff in-services, and communicate productivity levels with administration.
  • Qualifications include a Master’s degree, state licensure, Asha certification, and preferably SNF experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills are required.
  • Pay ranges from $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, with 1-16 hours weekly, and benefits such as an employee assistance program, flexible schedule, and retirement plan.
