Job Description
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for planning, organizing, and providing speech therapy services to residents, ensuring high-quality care in compliance with regulations.
Conduct evaluations and treatments for residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders, following physician orders. Perform resident screenings within specified timeframes and participate in facility meetings, care planning, and staff education. Develop programs to help residents achieve their optimal functioning and support facility certification standards. Follow infection control policies, uphold residents’ rights, and manage caseload scheduling. Communicate with the administrator regarding staffing needs and conduct staff in-services. Maintain professionalism in conduct, communication, and appearance. Qualifications include a Master’s degree, state licensure, ASHA certification, and preferably SNF experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills are essential.
Compensation ranges from $50.00 to $60.00 per hour, with an expected 1-16 hours weekly, flexible schedule, employee assistance, and retirement benefits. In-person work required.
