Job Description

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing speech therapy services to ensure high-quality resident care in compliance with regulations.

  • Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders based on physician orders.
  • Conduct screenings for new and long-term residents as needed.
  • Participate in facility meetings, develop resident programs, and support certification standards.
  • Follow infection control policies and residents’ rights guidelines.
  • Manage caseload scheduling, staff education, and in-service sessions.
  • Maintain professional conduct and communication at all times.
  • Qualifications include a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, state licensure, ASHA certification, and preferably SNF experience. Must have good communication skills and computer proficiency. The role offers flexible hours ($50-$60/hr, 1-16 hours/week) with benefits such as an employee assistance program, retirement plan, and flexible schedule.
