The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering speech therapy services to residents, ensuring high-quality care in compliance with regulations.

  • Conduct assessments and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders based on physician orders.
  • Perform resident screenings upon admission and as needed for ongoing residents.
  • Attend facility meetings, develop resident programs, and support facility certification standards.
  • Follow infection control policies and uphold residents’ rights.
  • Manage caseload scheduling, provide staff training, and maintain professional conduct.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team and advocate for residents.

  • Qualifications include a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, state licensure, ASHA certification, and preferably SNF experience. The role offers $50-$60/hour, with 1-16 hours/week, flexible scheduling, and benefits such as an employee assistance program, retirement plan, and in-person work.
