  • Admissions: Yes, as clinically appropriate

  • Case Mix: General emergency medicine

FACILITY INFORMATION
  • No. of Beds in Department: 14 ED beds
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped emergency department
  • Specialty Backup Available: Most subspecialties available except interventional radiology, ophthalmology, ENT, pediatrics, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and dialysis services
  • Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Clinician support MondaySaturday, 12:00p 8:00p
  • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Licenses: Active Kentucky medical license required
  • Board: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM required)
  • DEA: Active Kentucky DEA required
  • Certifications: As required for emergency medicine practice
  • Experience: Prior emergency medicine experience preferred
  • Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform emergency procedures as clinically indicated
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, APCs, and consulting specialists
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the EMR system
