Job Description
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role involves providing diagnostic and therapeutic speech and language services to students, collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff, and participating in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and implementing IEPs aligned with educational standards, and supporting students with diverse speech–language needs through prevention, intervention, and program design.
Qualified candidates must hold a graduate degree in communication disorders or speech pathology, possess a valid state license, and be willing to travel across multiple school sites.
Additional duties involve maintaining accurate records, supporting staff training, and ensuring compliance with district policies. The position emphasizes a continuous improvement approach, fostering equity, cultural competence, and student-centered supports. Physical requirements are light, and employment requires residency in Chicago or willingness to relocate within six months.
