Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician’s Assistant will provide comprehensive medical care for patients in an acute psychiatric hospital setting.
Perform physical exams, initial assessments, and patient observations.
Prescribe medications and treatment interventions aligned with patient needs.
Coordinate with the behavioral health team to develop treatment plans, communicate medical information, and manage patient records.
Work independently within legal and safety standards, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
Maintain confidentiality, provide direct patient care, and respond to emergencies as needed.
Ensure accurate documentation and participate in team and facility goal development.
Qualifications include a master’s degree in nursing, licensure in the state, DEA certification, and preferably experience in mental health.
