Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician’s Assistant will provide comprehensive medical care for patients in an acute psychiatric hospital setting.

  • Perform physical exams, initial assessments, and patient observations.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment interventions aligned with patient needs.
  • Coordinate with the behavioral health team to develop treatment plans, communicate medical information, and manage patient records.
  • Work independently within legal and safety standards, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality, provide direct patient care, and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and participate in team and facility goal development.

    • Qualifications include a master’s degree in nursing, licensure in the state, DEA certification, and preferably experience in mental health.
