Job Description

*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hospitalist/Laborist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient care, managing patient assessments, and coordinating treatment plans in a hospital setting. Applicants must provide efficient, cost effective obstetrical care and gynecological care using evidence based medicine. Evaluates patients in triage on Labor & Delivery or Emergency Department admitting patients when needed. Managers and delivers Obstetrical patients.

*Duties*

* Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
* Assists with C-Sections.
* Rounds on hospitalized, antepartum and post-operative patients.
* Covers all Emergency Room call coverage for OB/GYN when on shift.
* Provides both Inpatient and Emergency department consultations.
* Manage inpatient care for a diverse patient population, including those with complex medical needs.
* Utilize EHR systems and EMR systems effectively for documentation and communication.
* Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment options and health management.
* Engage in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions of care post-hospitalization.

*Qualifications*

* Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree required.
* Licensed in the state of California as an OB/GYN.
* DEA Certification required.
* Prior experience as an OB/GYN preferred. (at least 3 years experience)
* Ability to demonstrate excellent independent judgment, problem-solving, analytical and collaborative skills in order to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, providing patient centered leadership and direction.
* Must have the emotional intelligence that may include, but not limited to, patience, sensitivity and the compassion to work with patients that may be stressed, anxious, and difficult.
* Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
* Strong clinical skills with experience in hospital medicine; critical care experience is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in using EHR systems.
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $172,800.00 – $244,800.00 per year

Expected hours: 24 per week
