This opportunity offers premium compensation, full travel and lodging support, and the flexibility of 7 on/7 off or 2 weeks on/2 weeks off scheduling. Call-only duties to start, with potential clinic and OR involvement in the future.

💼 Position Overview

Role: Locum Tenens Plastic Surgeon
Location: Des Moines, IA
Rate: $3,000 per 24-hour call (2 hrs gratis) with additional call back pay
Schedule Options:

  • 7 on / 7 off, OR 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
    Start: ASAP
    Model: Call-only to start; clinic/OR may be added later
    Malpractice: Comprehensive coverage
    Travel & Lodging: Fully covered

🩺 What You’ll Do

Provide essential Plastic Surgery call coverage including:

  • Trauma call & ER consults

  • In-office consults & minor procedures

  • Reconstructive collaboration with breast surgeons

  • Inpatient responsibilities across two medical centers

  • No outreach or telehealth

Patient Mix: Surgical and cosmetic patients of all ages
EMR: Epic
Teaching opportunities available

📊 Practice Environment

  • Clinic Hours (if added): 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, Mon–Fri

  • OR Days (future potential): 2–4 per week

  • Clinic volume: 16+ visits per day

  • Appointment lengths: 15–30 minutes

  • Support: 1:1 nursing, APP on staff (no supervision required)

  • Full imaging, lab, and pharmacy support

📋 Requirements

  • Board Certified

  • Active IA License OR Active IMLC (with LOQ)

  • Experienced Plastic Surgeon

  • Clean malpractice

  • Availability for 7 on/7 off OR 2 weeks on/2 weeks off
