Job Description

The Recreational Therapist provides comprehensive recreational therapy services, including assessments, treatment planning, and interventions, in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy and certification (CTRS), with training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 30 days of hire.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating therapy programs, maintaining medical records, and ensuring patient safety and physical health.
  • Maintains professional communication, adheres to organizational policies, and participates in staff meetings.
  • Supervises students and volunteers, working under the Inpatient Coordinator.

    • Work environment: Clean, well-lit, with mobility around the unit and medical center.

    Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with benefits including health/dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development.

    Additional requirements: Must pass background checks, annual PPD testing, and participate in recipient rights instruction.
