Job Description
The Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities for youth programs, promoting healthy leisure, social skills, and psychomotor development.
Develops diverse programs including arts, sports, and community outings aligned with treatment goals.
Supervises recreation facilities, ensuring safety and maintenance, and assists in event planning.
Provides positive role modeling, documents progress, and participates in treatment team meetings.
Supervises activities for up to three youth and completes necessary reports.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related fields, youth recreation experience, CPR certification, and a valid NYS driver’s license.
Must demonstrate knowledge of recreation, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques, with a focus on ethical conduct.
