Job Description
We are seeking a permanent In-Patient Nurse Manager for a critical access hospital in Iowa to oversee daily operations of the med/surg and swing bed departments, managing higher acuity patients at times.
Supervise nursing staff, provide guidance, and conduct performance evaluations.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including workers’ compensation laws.
Oversee patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a Level II trauma setting to improve patient outcomes.
Implement and manage Athenahealth for documentation and data management.
Conduct staff training on critical care and emergency procedures.
Monitor patient progress, adjust care plans per DRG guidelines, and facilitate communication with patients and families.
Requires experience in nursing leadership, critical care, pediatric nursing preferred, familiarity with spinal taps, catheter care, and software systems like Athenahealth. Strong communication and team collaboration skills are essential.
This full-time role offers $90,000-$115,000 annually and provides an opportunity to impact patient care through effective leadership in a hospital setting.
