Neurosurgeon – General Neurosurgery with Elective Spine Focus
Location: Pueblo, Colorado

Overview:
UCHealth Medical Group in Pueblo, Colorado, is seeking a highly qualified, compassionate, and collaborative Neurosurgeon to join our established neurosurgery team. This is an excellent opportunity to serve an underserved community while practicing in a supportive, state-of-the-art environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care and will be eager to develop a specialty in elective spine surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive neurosurgical care in inpatient, outpatient, and clinic settings, including consultations, operative procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, averaging 8-12 patients daily in clinic, supplemented by surgical cases driven by clinical need.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including advanced practice providers and pain specialists, to deliver integrated patient care.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities, including ER coverage (approximately 7 days per month), with remote imaging review and minimal in-person duty.
  • Handle approximately one weekend call per month, contributing to the hospital’s 24/7 trauma and emergency services.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to building a robust elective spine practice, supporting community health needs.
  • Utilize advanced neuro-navigation tools, including Globus Robot and Stryker systems, to enhance surgical precision.
  • Maintain documentation through EPIC EMR system, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS), with eligibility to achieve certification within five years of employment.
  • Candidates accepting certification within 4 years of employment are encouraged to apply.
  • In-state and out-of-state candidates considered; recent graduates welcomed.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, patient care excellence, and ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality outcomes.
  • Valid medical license in Colorado or ability to promptly obtain licensure.

  • Competitive salary range: $800,000 – $877,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
