Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our esteemed Cardiovascular Surgery team at Ochsner Health. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive perioperative and intraoperative care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and cardiothoracic procedures. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first assist support during cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries, including complex procedures.
• Perform endovascular vein harvesting and radial artery endo-harvesting with precision and adherence to surgical protocols.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Conduct preoperative assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Offer postoperative care, monitor patient recovery, and manage complications as needed.
• Assist in maintaining surgical instruments and adhering to sterile techniques.
• Educate patients and their families regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Louisiana.
• Surgical experience with endovascular vein harvesting and radial artery endo-harvesting is essential.
• Prior experience as a first assist in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in perioperative patient management.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
