*Headwaters Behavioral Health – Adolescent Treatment Facility*

Job Title: Mental Health Therapist Reports To: Clinical Supervisor (with oversight from the Program Director/Chief Administrator) Positions Supervised: None FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-time with Benefits (No billable hours!) Salary Range: $40 per hour and up, based on experience, education, and licensure level.

_Position Summary_

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist is a core clinical staff member responsible for delivering trauma-informed therapeutic services to youth ages 12-17 residing in a children’s residential treatment facility. This position provides individual psychotherapy, group counseling, and family interventions to support emotional, behavioral, and psychological stabilization. The therapist is responsible for assessing youth, developing individualized treatment plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. This role requires a licensed mental health professional who is trained in trauma-informed care; EMDR or BLS training is preferred. The therapist must meet all requirements under IDAPA 16.04.18, comply with Joint Commission standards, and complete a background check as outlined in IDAPA 16.05.06.

_Education and Experience_

· Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field from an accredited program.

· Minimum of one (1) year of post-graduate clinical experience with adolescents in a behavioral health, trauma-informed, or residential setting preferred.

· Clinical experience in treating trauma, attachment disruptions, anxiety, depression, and behavioral dysregulation preferred.

· Supervised-licensure candidates (LMSW, LPC, LMFT) working toward independent licensure will be considered.

_License and Certification_

· Must hold and maintain current Idaho licensure under Title 54, Idaho Code (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, etc.).

· Must complete required criminal history and background check per IDAPA 16.05.06 prior to hire and maintain eligibility throughout employment.

· Certification in First Aid and CPR required (may be obtained within 30 days of hire).

· Preferred: EMDR or BLS training, Polyvagal Theory or HeartMath familiarity, and prior residential or group therapy experience.

_Language and Cultural Skills_

· Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively with youth, families, and professional staff.

· Strong documentation and clinical writing skills.

· Familiarity with providing culturally competent care to diverse youth and families, including sensitivity to trauma history, religious beliefs, and communication preferences.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is preferred but not required.

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
