📄 Job Description:
We are looking for experienced Medical Directors to review medical records, synthesize complex hospital-based clinical scenarios, and provide expert decision-making on requested services. You will collaborate with healthcare providers to gather clinical info and ensure timely determinations. Ideal candidates are professional, collaborative, resourceful, and thrive in a team-oriented, structured environment.

⚡ Responsibilities:

  • ✅ Conduct timely and compliant medical necessity reviews for inpatient services

  • ✅ Maintain accountability for productivity, quality, and compliance metrics

  • ✅ Communicate determinations clearly, both verbally and in writing

  • ✅ Adapt to evolving workflows, tools, and utilization management practices

  • ✅ Ensure services align with national guidelines and clinical standards

💻 Interview Process:

  • All interviews conducted virtually via Zoom

  • One interview with lead medical director; decisions made afterward

Requirements

📋 Requirements:

  • 🎓 MD or DO degree

  • 🏥 5+ years of direct clinical patient care experience post-residency or fellowship (preferably inpatient or Medicare-age/disabled population experience)

  • 🩺 Board Certification in an approved ABMS specialty

  • 📃 Current, unrestricted US medical license (willing to obtain additional licenses if required)

  • 🚫 No sanctions from federal or state authorities

  • 🗣 Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • 🔍 Strong analytic and interpretation skills, team-oriented

⭐ Preferred Qualifications:

  • 💡 Knowledge of managed care, Medicare Advantage, Managed Medicaid, or commercial health insurance

  • 📊 Utilization management experience

  • 📚 Familiarity with national guidelines such as MCG® or InterQual

  • 🏥 Hospital-based clinical practice experience (Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Geriatrics, Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine, or hospital-based specialties)

  • ⚡ Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic environments

  • 💻 Comfortable using technology to improve workflows
