Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor – Pediatric Step Down
Job Description
Inova Health is seeking a full-time RN Unit Supervisor for our 22-bed Pediatric Step Down Unit at L.J. Murphey Children’s Hospital in Falls Church, VA.
Our 22-bed Pediatric Step Down Unit (formerly known as PIMC) cares for intermediate level patients specializing in renal diagnosis and high flow. Nurses will also care for medical/surgical patients with all diagnoses requiring step-down care. Nurse ratios are 3:1 for IMC status patients and 4:1 for floor status patients.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes. *RN Unit Supervisor Requirements:*
* *Experience*: Minimum of one-year pediatric Registered Nurse experience. Charge nurse and preceptor experience preferred.
* *Certifications*: BLS (American Heart Association) required. PALS strongly preferred.
* *Licensure*: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
* *Education*: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN)- must be within one year of completing their BSN.
* Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days.
