Job Description
The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner reports to the Director of Nursing and supervises nurses and medical assistants.
They provide specialized wound care in home, nursing home, and assisted living settings, performing assessments, developing care plans, and educating patients and caregivers.
Qualifications include a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing, active NP licensure, wound care certification within 6 months, and at least 2 years of clinical experience.
Physical demands involve significant mobility, lifting, and exposure to environmental changes, with requirements for reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
The role requires independent judgment, strong assessment skills, and adaptability to diverse environments.
Essential duties encompass wound assessment, treatment, documentation, collaboration with healthcare teams, supervision, and adherence to safety and confidentiality protocols.
