Job Description

The Med/Surg-ED Manager is a registered nurse responsible for leading and supervising staff in the Med/Surg and Emergency Departments at an 11-bed Critical Access Hospital in Leon, Iowa.

• Provides leadership, problem-solving, and staffing management to ensure quality patient care.
• Ensures staff training, compliance, and a positive work environment through mentoring and effective communication.
• Responds to emergencies, monitors safety protocols, and coordinates patient care activities.
• Supports professional development and maintains current licensure and certifications.
• Works flexible shifts, including after-hours coverage, and acts as Incident Commander during disasters.

Qualifications include an Iowa RN license (BSN preferred), 3+ years of Med/Surg/ER experience, and 2+ years of management experience.
