Job Description
The staff physician role focuses on establishing a comprehensive, community-based, family-centered primary care program aimed at improving access to high-quality services and enhancing health outcomes through prevention, education, and evidence-based chronic disease management.
Key duties include developing personalized care plans, practicing preventative medicine, providing immunizations, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accurate documentation, and managing a patient panel of at least 1,500 active patients. The physician must adhere to standards of care, coordinate across care settings, and support community health initiatives.
Reporting to the Director of Family Medicine and collaborating with staff and support teams, the physician’s performance is regularly evaluated based on productivity, patient care quality, and professional conduct. Requirements include a medical degree from an accredited school, active South Carolina medical licensure, Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, and strong interpersonal, organizational, and clinical skills. The role involves moderate physical activities, adherence to confidentiality standards, and minimal travel.
