Job Description

The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive community care to street homeless or subway-dwelling individuals.

  • Participate in outreach, support participants pre- and post-housing, and assist with daily living skills.
  • Offer supportive counseling, advocate against discrimination and healthcare inequities, and promote person-centered, harm reduction approaches.
  • Work in the field, with flexible hours and periodic on-call duties, supporting participants for months after housing placement to ensure stability and independence.

  • Requirements include a licensed master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with experience or plans to obtain licensure if pursuing an MSW. Travel across three counties is expected, and relocation to Norwich, NY, is required before starting.
