Job Description

The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a vital member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team dedicated to providing comprehensive care to street homeless and subway-dwelling individuals in the community.

  • Participate in community outreach, street-based work, and coordinate needs before and after housing placement.
  • Support participants in developing daily living skills, offer supportive counseling, and advocate against discrimination and healthcare inequities.
  • Follow participants post-housing to ensure stability, independence, and wellbeing using the Critical Time Intervention model.
  • Work requires field-based activity, periodic on-call hours, and flexible scheduling.
  • Position involves travel across Chenango, Broome, and Otsego counties, with relocation to Norwich, NY required before starting.

  • Qualifications: Licensed master’s degree or higher in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology; MSW considered with licensure plans and experience working with homeless populations.

    Compensation & Benefits: $32-$34/hour, full-time (40 hrs/week), with benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and flexible schedule.
