*JOB DESCRIPTION: *Nurse Practitioner – Family Medicine

*LOCATION: *Muscatine, IA

*JOB REQUIREMENTS:* Minimum 2-3 years of direct primary care provider experience.

MSN with FNP, DNP or related degree or foreign degree equivalent; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa; Board- certified or Board-eligible; complete or be eligible to complete requirements for the practice of medicine in the State of Iowa, including state agreements for payment of health services under Medicare and Medicaid; eligible for Drug Enforcement Agency permission to prescribe and maintain controlled substances.

*JOB DUTIES:* Performs comprehensive primary care in a medically underserved area, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment for patients with chronic or acute health care problems; practice medicine in accordance with generally accepted medical care standards; provides hospitalization and follow-up services and consults as necessary and appropriate; provides at least the minimum scheduled hours of office practice; carries out supervisor preceptorships of extender staff and other appropriate educational preceptorships; participates in appropriate professional continuing medical education as appropriate to physicians individual information needs and maintain licensure; maintain knowledge of community resources for both social and medical referrals.
