DayOne Family Healthcare is a full-service family medicine clinic in Battle Creek. We are seeking a BC/BE family medicine physician to join our multi-specialty team of two family doctors, one general surgeon, 10 APPs, and numerous RN care managers, LPNs, and MAs. DayOne has been independently owned since 1978. We practice evidence-based medicine, and we are a Patient Centered Medical Home. We are always strategizing to improve patients’ access to high quality care while keeping patients’ costs low. We are committed to teaching the next generation of healthcare providers; we routinely precept medical students and APP students for their clinical clerkships.

*Position Summary:*

The physician will provide evidence-based health care services to patients in a compassionate manner. The physician will prioritize teaching, mentoring, and leading.

*Duties/Responsibilities:*

1. Examine patients, take medical history, record results, make diagnoses, and decide on follow-up recommendations

2. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, bloodwork, cultures, etc.

3. Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing, and wound care

4. Exercise professional judgment regarding consultation with physicians concerning appropriate treatment

5. Develop and implement patient care plans, counsel patients, and record progress

6. Prescribe medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations

7. Provide general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems, and health maintenance

8. Assist other providers with emergency treatments and more complex procedures when needed

9. Share APP chart review responsibilities with the physician team

*Position Qualifications:*

1. Medical degree and two years of intern experience required

2. Board certification required

3. Current medical license in the state of Michigan

4. Current DEA and DPS Certificates of Registration

5. Current CPR Certification required (ACLS preferred)

6. Valid Michigan Driver’s License

7. Current Immunization Records

8. Must be able to meet and maintain current DayOne credentialing and privileging requirements

*Special Requirements:*

Must be willing to work evening hours and weekends when necessary

*Physical Requirements:*

· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving

· Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times

· Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids

DayOne offers a competitive salary, a sign on bonus, a quarterly productivity bonus, paid vacation/sick leave, paid CME time, CME expense reimbursement, reimbursement for board exams and licensing fees, full medical insurance coverage, malpractice insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401K matching and profit sharing. This role offers the same Monday-Friday schedule every week as well as one four-hour weekend shift per month. There is an opportunity to take call if the physician desires but is not required. DayOne does not provide any inpatient or OB care, so this role is outpatient only. COVID-19 vaccination and yearly influenza vaccination is required.
