Job Description
The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) provides primary healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and education, in collaboration with other providers.
Communicates effectively and builds rapport with diverse patients and their families, respecting cultural traditions and community needs.
Performs comprehensive patient assessments, initiates diagnostic tests, prescribes treatments, and updates medical records following standards and policies.
Recognizes urgent situations, makes appropriate referrals, and collaborates with physicians and specialists to ensure continuity of care.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and clinic meetings.
Supervises routine procedures, maintains compliance, and ensures accurate documentation and coding.
Qualifications include a valid Nurse Practitioner degree, California licensure, BCLS, DEA, and NPI registration, with preferred experience in outpatient settings and additional certifications.
Must possess strong communication, organizational, and cultural competency skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical requirements involve mobility, strength, and vision necessary for clinical tasks; exposure to blood-borne pathogens is possible.
